Scoop Schneider

Did I tell you that one of my classes requires me to write for the school newspaper? Yes this is Bec not Jenée. We have to write ten pieces for the paper this semester. Today I had an interview with a dog. The school has hired a Border Collie and his handler to herd the geese into "safe" areas. The were tired of people stepping in poop and tracking it in and the soccer players didn't enjoy sharing their field either. Coy was so cute. She does not touch the geese. She herds them. This method is becoming popular at airports and golf courses.

She gave a little demo for the administrators. It was funny to listen to them talking on the radios.

"Get the president. We are going out on the lawn." Beep

"Yes. There are three geese out there right now." Beep

"Okay. We are on our way. We don't want to miss them." Beep

She was let off leash and her duty was done in about 20 seconds. She makes $45 an hour 20 hours a week as part of the schools grounds maintenace package. I am getting a dog, dropping out of school and chasing geese. YeeHaw!
