When a 12 Mile Run Seems Much Longer

Alan left the house at 7:30 this morning for a 12 mile run. He said that if it started to rain harder he would head home. At that point it was "just spitting." Then as an after thougth he showed me the route he was taking.

30 minutes after he left Jenée and I turned the tv on to take a look at the weather map. There was a lot of green, yellow and a bit of red heading our way. Hmmm. Alan decided to run in this? We decided that if we heard thunder I would track him down. Shortly after that decision we heard it. I took off to find him. I was worried that I would not see him if he was taking cover somewhere. The rain picked up and was pounding on the windshield. Finally I found him a little over five miles from home. He was easy to spot as he was running in the road. He was smiling when he saw me. Maybe he was laughing at me. Whatever. He was expecting me. I think it had less to do with the pouring rain, thunder and lightening and more to do with almost 19 years of marriage.
