Jenee and Cole (Maria & Danielle too) just got an extension to their summer break. Orginally school was to begin August 22. The 5/6 grade teachers were not going to be able to get into the building until Aug. 18. This ment there would be no meet the teacher night. On top of that the kids did not receive class schedules. To keep things fair ( I guess that is their reason) the 7 & 8 graders did not receive their teacher assignments. Parents were ticked. Teachers were ticked. Last night at the school board meeting it was decided that the school year would begin on September 6. They will extend the school day by 15 minutes to make up for the time lost and they will get out on June 12. Of course I am not holding this as law. These are the same people who said the school would be ready on time. When does construction ever run on time?
My classes at KCC begin on the last week in August. My Miller classes begin on the 6th. In fact the sixth we will be full force into our fall schedule. Jenee has dance, Cole will go to the neighbors, I have class during the day and at night. We will be off an running.
There could be bigger problems so we will take this little blip in the game plan instead. In the big scheme of things, this is really not a problem.
