Tutu and school stuff

Bec:
Last night Jenée and I went to see Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu. Do you know how many people have no idea who he is? My boss thought he was a musical group. (This reminds me of when Jenée thought Yoyo Ma was a rock group..He is a world renowneded cellist. ) Back to last night. It was a wonderful event. The Boys Choir of Harlem put on a great performance. Jenée told me that at some points in the event she felt like yelling "Amen!" since we don't get to do that in church. Actually she could but they might excommunicate her. The only down side of last night was that we froze! It was so cold. At intermission Jenée went and scammed her Uncle Brian's suit coat. He and Tammy were seated under the lights. They were hot. We were grateful. My friends husband lent me his coat that I shared with the lady sitting next to me. I did not know her before the event but we huddled together for warmth. Her name is Rosia.

Funny Jenée story: Jenée received a letter from school telling her when the first day would be August 22 and that she would receive her teacher assignment then. As she is reading this she says to me:

"The bus is dropping us off and making us walk from the high school!"
"Which one? The new high school?" I asked.
"No the old one. The fifth & sixth grade building!"
"You mean the one right next door to your school?!!!"

I busted out laughing! Then I called Dawn and put her on speaker phone and retold the story. She and I laughed sooooo hard. See, I had to walk over a mile to school when I did not take the bus. Then if I did take the bus it was the city bus. That dropped us three blocks away in good or bad weather. And I had to carry a saxophoneaphone on Monday and Friday (by the way: what parent lets a 70 pound girl play an instrumenturment as big as her?) Dawn told me that she actually put her boys in the car and drove them around to all of the places she lived so they could see how she got to school. We had a great laugh!

Jenée:
My Mom is very mean. Just because I'm spoiled doesn't mean she has to treat me that way, and by the way I play the piano and that weighs at least five times as much as me. And she won't let me walk down Wattles Road by myself. It's not my fault I don't walk to school.

I did like seeing Desmond Tutu. The whole thing was really nice. the Boys Choir of Harlem was really cool.

Since Mom(the mean one) says we should write anything I will. I'm mad that they didn't give out our teachers for school, and Cole farted on me. That was not nice.

Cole:
My teacher is Mrs. Swaton. I had her as my teacher in first grade. I'm in third grade now. My friend Jacob is in a different class this year. I hope some of my other friends are in my class this year.

A suggestion for Jenee, maybe Mapquest can give her a good map from "the high school" to her school (hint: do not trust Mapquest!) Just kidding Jenee! Cole, Seth and Riley suggest Racing Stripes as a movie. What is your movie review on that movie? Being a horse person, I was a bit surprised by the zebra sounds!
