A.O.K.

May I just say that my doctor is awesome. You know who else is awesome? Brian. He called to check on me. Jenee talked to him and relayed to him that I was craving a McFlurry. He got one for me. Tammy is a very lucky girl. Actually, this runs in the family. Norm and Shirley you have two great sons. Alan takes very good care of me. Thank you for raising them to be gentlemen. Seriously, do you know how many people tell me how fortunate I am to have married Alan. I feel like I won a contest or something.

The crutches will be short-lived as I am allowed to put weight on my knee and doing so now is not painful. I have a high pain threshold but really it is just a bit achy.

Tomorrow will be a day of reading, watching some movies and just relaxing. Text me!

I Spent My Yarn Money on a Tattoo

Really, I was just with Anjie and Jess for support. Before we left the house I called Brian, aka Tat Boy, to ask a couple of questions for Anj. "No," I said, "I am not going to get a tattoo."

When they told me they were going to get apples I laughed. The design turned out to be very cute. When we got there, Anjie was all set for big pain. It hurt but not like she thought it would. Lil' Round told us it would only take about 7 minutes. Cool. Except for the hot flash, she did great. She was wondering why her oldest son passed out when he got his.

Look no tears.

Jess is not a first timer. By the way, her tattoo artist gave us some classroom hints involving the use of Jolly Ranchers.

Arm twisting never came into play. I found myself in the chair.

As Lil Round was working in my foot Anjie and I were talking about going to the new yarn store that just opened in town. All of a sudden it hit me and I exclaimed, "I just spent my yarn money on a tattoo!" Lil Round stopped his work to chuckle. He said he was going to share that with the lady that does their piercing because she is a knitter. He thinks my next tat should be a skull with knitting needles going through it. I have seen this design on a t-shirt. I won't say never becasue this morning I really did not imagine myself sitting in that chair.

In case you are wondering in Alan was fine with it. What can I say? He loves me. The kids were not impressed. I think this leaves only Tammy, Kevin and Alan unadorned. Am I right? Oh wait, and the parents.

We found the name of this product fun:

Finally, the end product looks awesome with my red heels.

I will get a group picture tomorrow.

Rockin' the Big 4 0!

Yes, I kick off the big 10 months of 4 people turning 40. I have had a great day.

The first thing I did this morning was to run 4 miles. Why? Well, because I can. Alan left me a card, Daddy called to wish me a happy birthday. After I took Cole to golf I hit Starbucks for a White Chocolate Mocachino. Mmmm. Back at home Jimmy called me. He decided to be a nice big brother and opted not to take out the quarter page ad in the local paper announcing my birthday. Don't get me wrong, I love celebrating my birthday but I don't like parties in my honor or pictures in papers. I figured this is what Jim would do to me given that he is a newspaper man. He may no longer be in The Mitten but he still has ties to our paper. I then went out to lunch with Anjie and Mary. We hit the Mexican resturant by Hobby Lobby. They have some good food there, check it out sometime. Anjie gave me a mug announcing my age. Mary took pictures of my kids. She let me choose the ones I liked. I will get them all framed later.

Back at home again I received flowers from my big brother Jimmy.

This was so much better than having my face in the paper.

I received many cards and phone calls wishing me Happy Birthday. I also have received many greatings on Facebook.

For several years I have done a cartwheel on my birthday. Actually I have done a one handed cartwheel. Last year I could only two hand it. I was determined to get it back. Tada!

It's not pretty but I did it. I can also do the splits again but Jenee and I decided that we did not need a picture of that. As she put it: Unless you are a stick, things just look wrong when you do the splits.

For dinner Alan, Jenee, Cole and I went to Olive Garden then had cake at home.

Thank you to everyboy who called, sent a card, left a note, or signed my Facebook wall. You made my 40th birthday one for the books. I am truly blessed.

(Next up for 40 is Tammy. Kevin is on deck and Brian is in the hole.)
